Although goldfish are thought to be fine in a "goldfish bowl" this is no where near what they require for any amount of time when thinking of a home for your fish.
Gold fish depending on the variety can reach up to 12 inches in length (normally 8-10 for the fancy fantail variety) and per fish require around 60 litres of water volume of which needs to be filtered more than most tropical fish.
